Surah The Cow [Al-Baqara] Ayah 286 Location Madanah Number 2
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٖ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ [٩٦]
തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ജനങ്ങളില്‍ വെച്ച് ജീവിതത്തോട് ഏറ്റവും ആര്‍ത്തിയുള്ളവരായി അവരെ (യഹൂദരെ) നിനക്ക് കാണാം; ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികളെക്കാള്‍ പോലും. അവരില്‍ ഓരോരുത്തരും കൊതിക്കുന്നത് തനിക്ക് ഒരായിരം കൊല്ലത്തെ ആയുസ്സ് കിട്ടിയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്നാണ്‌. ഒരാള്‍ക്ക് ദീര്‍ഘായുസ്സ് ലഭിക്കുക എന്നത് അയാളെ (അല്ലാഹുവിൻ്റെ) ശിക്ഷയില്‍ നിന്ന് അകറ്റിക്കളയുന്ന കാര്യമല്ല. അവര്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം സൂക്ഷ്മമായി അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു അല്ലാഹു.
